The Tragic Life Endings of the Finches
Surprisingly we all remember the tragic story of the Finches, the game which captured all of our minds and hearts. If you remember right , its a game where we play as the son of Edith Flinch, daughter of Edie Finch, reliving all the memories of his ancestors by exploring the haunted house and learning about the deaths of his Finch relatives. Interestingly, the deaths all happened in a sinister way, where each victim of this family curse, had their own timeline and their own unique roles which they were part of. Lets continue reading where we go through each of these Characters and the role they played before suffering a horrific end !
Odin(1880–1937)
In Norway the Finch was a rich family. At the beginning we see Odin Finch bury his wife and little baby boy Johann in the cemetery of the Haunted House.He was heartbroken and wanted to escape the house on Jan 7th 1937 to save himself, but a Storm with 12m high wave blew Odin to his death.But others survived. Edie had left his daughter Edie, who along with her husband and daughter Mollie escaped to Orcas Island where they constructed a new finch house where they buried Odin, the first Finch.
Molly (1937–1947)
Now its the turn of little Mollie story. One night she went to bed without dinner, She was starving and couldn’t sleep. Hungry, she started to roam around in her room and looked inside her pumpkin box on the shelf to see if there was any candy. There was none and so she looked at the fish bowl, but she controlled herself from eating her cute goldfish Christopher. Then she went to he bathroom and started eating toothpaste and then poisonous berry. Her stomach grumbled, she came near her window and saw a bird outside. She opened the window and suddenly she became a cat. As a cat she could now climb the tree and try to catch the bird. She jumped over branches and wooden log and while she jumped to catch the bird she transformed into an owl and now she was flying. As a owl she wandered about the fields across the farm. She grew hungrier and started hunting rabbits, she caught many rabbits and ate them whole. Then she became a shark, and fell to the snow, she rolled herself across the cliff and entered into the Ocean. There she hunted sea fish like seals. Finally while she was swimming she jumped out into a boat and became a Monster. It had big testicles and its face looked like a earthworm but Bigger. It slither across the boat and started eating all the sailors one by one. With each swallowing, it became hungrier and hungrier. It then entered through the pipes and slithered its way into Mollys room silently under her bed and Molly woke up. Molly wrote all these down in her journal and waited patiently to get eaten.
Barbara (1944–1960)
The infamous Barbara Finch was known all throughout the world as a screamer when she was little. People from all over the country came to her plays to hear hear scream. But as the years went by, Barbara got older and her scream lost it vigor. It sounded more like her panicking and a shriek than a scream. Her boyfriend Rick tried to demonstrate to her how to scream. His voice came out perfect and amazed Barbara. Rick told Barbara that her only problem was her motivation, so he conjured up a plan to give her a scare. Suddenly they heard her father Sven scream, blood was cumming out of his hand. Her father had his hand cut from a table saw and he needed to be rushed to the Emergency room Immediately. So Barbara was left with her brother Walter. While Barbara was continuing her practice of screaming with Rick suddenly she heard the radio. There was a mass murderer who were terrorizing the streets of Orcas Island. In an instant they heard a loud noise. It came from the basement. Rick went first but didnt come back. Barbara walked to the basement and picked up Ricks cane on the ground. From the radio, she could hear that a mass murderer were on the lose. She grew frightened when she heard noises from inside the fridge. Boo.. Opening that, she found Rick wearing a scary mask, she hit him in the face with the cane. Rick cried out in pain and told her she didn’t scream out of Terror but with Frustration. Barbara then shut the door to his face. After 20 minutes she heard a noise and waited called for help. Barbara still had the cane , she went upstairs in Walters room but couldn’t find Walter in the bed. She turned around and saw the Psychopath with a hook and chainsaw standing just near the door.
She kicked him in the gut and quickly closed the door. She could hear the man banging in the door. Through another door she entered molly’s room and creep-ed behind the masked man and hit him hard with the cane. Disoriented he turned around and stepped his foot on the skating shoe, slipped and fell down downstairs. Barbara knew, the fall wasn’t enough to kill him, so slowly she walked downstairs to the living room but now the man disappeared. She tried to hear his breathe but couldn’t, she heard the bell coming from the door. She went near the door, and heard whispers behind her. She turned around , SURPRISE, the room was full of people cheering for her. Barbara became so thrilled, this is what she wanted all along. Suddenly the mask fell down from the peoples face and revealed who they were. They were like her worst fear coming to life. She understood what they were about to do, so she gave her last scream before the Aliens cooked her for Dinner. The one who narrated this story was one of the pumpkin monster present , he kindly cut off her ear and left it inside the musical box. Later when the police came, all they could find was her brother Walter who was hiding and the last remnant of Barbara Finch — her ear.
Calvin (1950–1961)
Calvin was on a swing, he was swinging one day , he had an injury on his leg and he couldn't walk. He was sad and decided that one day he would fly. He increased the speed of his swinging , with each speed he came closer to the tree branch. In-front of him was the wide Ocean. His mom was calling him for lunch, his brother Gregory went to his mom, but Calvin kept on swinging. He went so fast that he started looping around the branch. He saw himself leave the sit of the swing and he saw him fly in the wind towards the ocean. He finally became free.
Gregory(1976–1977)
The story of Gregory captures our heart. The story starts with Edith finding out the divorce letter between Edith’s parents. Here is how the story goes. One day , Gregory was in the bathtub playing with all his toys. There were frogs , ducks and many other toys in the bathroom. Suddenly the frog came alive and started jumping on the water of the tub, the duck was rotating as the frog moved. It started jumping over the whale and knocking down all the other toys. When Gregory mom came back she saw all the creature stop moving. She turned off the tap water and heard the call from Gregory’s father. She left Gregory in the tub to talk to his dad. Suddenly the frog jumped and turned on the tap water. The bathtub started filling up with water , and Gregory silently drifted to his imagination and saw himself become a frog and died peacefully. Of-coarse he was downed alive by the curse. Gregory father admitted that his beautiful son saw things and he would like to hear them from his. Sadly , he divorced her mom because of this incident, he blamed her for Gregory’s death.
Gus(1969–1982)
The kite-flying Gus, had a dangerous ending. It was his fathers wedding day. Gus was angry as he didnt want to have a stepmother. he stayed at a distance flying his kite in the stormy weather. Suddenly wind started blowing harshly. It was an indicating that there would be a hurricane. All the people went inside the tent, they didn’t bother whats going on the outside. They increased the volume of music and started dancing inside. The wind became more violent, it blew the chairs and table out in the open , then it blew the tent where all the people were dancing. Gus looked at the sky , all the items that they bought were in the sky. It directed itself towards Gus. Later everyone found Gus dead. Poor gus , he always had a keen Imagination.
Sam(1950–1983)
Sam was a very excellent photographer. He took pictures of nature, people and all remarkable events which he stored them as memories. He had a daughter named Dawn and he was very protective of her. He taught her how to take picture , how to shoot a gun,and many others in short he wanted her to survive in this world. One day they went out for a nature sight. Sam took a lot of her picture and told her that she would remember their visit as memories. Sam made her daughter shoot a deer. They both thought the deer died from the shot. Sam wanted to take a picture with her and the deer. So he set the timer to a few seconds. He then ran to her daughters place where she was holding the deer. Her daughter felt that the deer was moving and told her father that immediately. Too late, the deer gave a jerk and pushed Sam Finch off the cliff, that moment was caught by the camera. That is one memorable event that her daughter would never forget.
Milton(1992–2003)
Milton was a painter, He had a room at the top of the Big Finch House. He used to go there to Paint. He drew a lot of things, pictures of castles , about himself. He disappeared one-day when he entered his painting and was never seen again.
Walter (1952–2005)
It is the story of Little Walter. On the night of his sister Barbara’s death, he crept into the basement and hid himself. He did that in order to protect himself from the monsters who were outside. He locked his door, Months went by , the scream of the monsters upstairs grew louder. Years went by the voices were present , but it became softer. Probably because he was there for so long, the voices became normal. He settled into a daily routine. He opened the can of food everyday to feed himself. Like this 30 years went by. Walter couldn’t take it anymore,. He wanted everything to stop. He didn’t want to live the same day anymore, that mundane routine. Suddenly one day the noise from outside stopped, everything went silent. Walter decided to leave the basement. He climbed down the stairs into a tunnel and dug his way out. As soon as he stepped outside to see the light for the first time in 30 years, he was surprised, he enjoyed every moment of it. He looked at the cloudy sky, unfortunately a bomb fell on him and he died.
Lewis(1988–2010)
Brother Lewis worked in a factory where he cut fish. It was a mundane job where he used to cut the head of fishes with an automated saw and sent the headless fish into the cut. He used to daydream.
Edie(1917–2010) Watch Story
It was the last night before Edith and his Mom were leaving the house for good.Grandma Edie was quite. But at the dinner table she toasted at the idea for their last night together and for all other nights. Grandma wanted to reveal the story to her daughter, but her mother stopped her and scolded her and said that her story cost her the life of her children. Ediths great grandmother insisted that the same curse would not leave them if they left the house. And she decided not to leave the house at all. She told Edith to go to her room and search for presents. Edith walked to her room where she found the present her grandmother left her on the bed. It was a diary, She opened it and saw her grandmothers words, that she had many stories to tell her, and for that night she would tell her about the day when she was born.
That day there was a great earthquake in the sea. Everyday she used to see the sunk house through the cliff. But that day was quite different. There was a low tide in a thousand years and all the water pulled back revealing dry ground. Edie started going to the house. The fog rose and she lost her way, She turned around and continued walking in the fog where gradually she started seeing thing, from her past, all her memories which she lost through her years. She came to the old house and saw the lights turning on. Her mom came and stopped Edith from reading the remaining of her story.
Mom then took Edith and left for the nursing home immediately saying she would send a van to pick her up next morning. While in the car Edith saw her great grandmother for the last time. The next morning when the van came to pick her up, they couldn’t find Edie anymore. She died peacefully in that house without any fear.
Dawn(1968–2016)
After leaving the house, Edith and her Mom Dawn were on the move traveling from places to places all in the hope to be able to live. Unfortunately, the death Dullah doesn’t like to spare anyone. Her mother suddenly became very sick. Although it looked like her condition were improving, but all of a sudden she passed away leaving Edith Flinch all alone.
Edith(1999–2017)
Right after her mothers death Edith got pregnant and she wrote her diary everyday fearing the worst that she cannot meet her new born baby. She wanted to tell her child all the stories she have read and the unusual events she saw in her life. Sadly, the worst thing happened . Edith died during the time of giving birth due to complications in her pregnancy. She left you her diary , so that one day you can know your Mom through her diary. Son ,stay happy , let all of us be grateful for the short time we are able to live on this earth.
The game ended with you at your Moms graveyard. I am glad to see you go this far. Your are the last Finch Alive, be grateful for living in this brief span of life, savor every moment of it with new experiences.
